Since we have entered the early weeks of November, that means it’s time for Hiller Harvest! Up until November 21st, every student, teacher, faculty, and staff member, or anyone in the Tower Hill community, is welcome to donate food items to the drive. All donations will then be forwarded to LCS (Lutheran Community Services), who will then distribute the items to families and individuals in need, especially during the holiday season. In almost every community, there are people who face the struggle that is food insecurity.

Not being able to have access to nutritious foods has lasting effects on an individual's well-being. Hiller Harvest is a simple yet powerful way to bring food to people in our community who need help through this struggle. Even though to many it might seem like a small effort, bringing in at least one item during this food drive brings at least one food item to the table for a family that is in need.

With SNAP benefits in Delaware being cut, it is an incredibly crucial time for us to support our Delaware community by donating food items to LCS. The impact of our donations goes even further than just giving food to people in need, but also giving families hope and a sense of relief from fighting to pay for groceries so they can focus on getting back on their feet. We have shown in previous years just how much we can help by donating over 3,000 items as a school in 2024. The Service Board urges everybody to bring in and donate even just one item during Hiller Harvest, because donating that one item can mean the world to someone in need.
