A Successful Season: Unpacking the Wins of Tower Hill’s Volleyball Tea

Known to have one of the best programs in the state, Tower Hill's girls' volleyball team dominated in their recent season. Tower Hill Volleyball is made up of three talented teams: Varsity, JV, and 3rds. The 3rds team went undefeated in the DISC Conference and finished with a record of 8-2. The 3rds team was coached by Mandy Quinn and Sammie Rankin and captained by Ava Desai, Ellen Kim, and Sydne Scott. The JV team finished the season with a dominant record of 13-2 and also went undefeated in the DISC Conference. The JV team was coached by Mr. Wermus and Mrs. Douglass and captained by Sarah Kalman and Addison Rice.

Tower Hill’s varsity volleyball is a dominant squad, consistently winning state finals and sending multiple players on to play volleyball in college. The varsity team is coached by Micheal Sachs and Zach Strickland and captained by Lily Leung and Sienna Nygard. The team has continued their streak of assertive wins, often winning games in 3 sets. Tower Hill’s varsity team has gone 14-1 this season. The varsity squad is excited to begin their journey to another state title in the state tournament.

The team’s seniors–Sienna Nygard, Danielle Soleye, Kennedy Haskins, Lily Leung, and Aashritha Koya–all play a big role on and off the court.
Senior libero Lily Leung is an instrumental part of the varsity squad. During one of the toughest games this season against Archmere, she achieved the incredible feat of 1,000 digs this season! Lily was also nominated for Delaware Preseason Player of the Year by Delaware Online in August. She will continue playing volleyball at New York University.

Seniors Kennedy Haskins and Danielle Soleye are a powerful team of middle hitters who each had 16 blocks this season. Danielle and Kennedy. When asked about her season, senior Danielle Soleye said, "Playing volleyball is the best experience I have had each year! The girls help make the team better, stronger, and the passion we have for the game is reciprocated off the court. They are truly my closest friends, and those bonds will last for life."
Aashritha Koya, a defensive specialist, has 21 aces and 57 digs this season. In a recent game against Wilmington Friends, she had 4 aces and 2 digs, contributing to Tower Hill’s win in just three sets.
Sienna Nygard, a senior captain and defensive specialist, boasted 141 digs throughout her high school career. Sienna is also a goalie for the Tower Hill soccer team and was awarded All-Conference Honors for the 2025 season.
Even though she is only a junior, Parker Lewicki has accomplished 1,000 assists! Parker came to Tower Hill in her sophomore year and immediately made an impression on the court. She had 580 assists in her first year playing for the Tower Hill squad and has continued to contribute with 544 assists this year.
Tower beat Middle Town in round two of the playoffs, Archmere in the quarter finals, and Lake-Forest in the semi-finals. Tower Hill won the conference title on Monday, November 10th at 7:00 pm. Go THVB!
